Inertia Health Group has been working with participants of the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) for a number of years now. We are proud of the fact we can support all aspects of care in the community via a range of different outlets. We are extremely proud to now support at home Podiatry Services for our NDIS patients & NDIS participants!
Our working relationship with the NDIS allows NDIS participants to engage in Podiatry services with our Podiatrists in Adelaide.

Inertia Podiatrists are able to assist participants in the NDIS scheme with a wide variety of conditions and support them to achieve their health-related goals at home. Our NDIS patients seek our services to assist in rehabilitation and management of a variety of conditions, help with walking mobility and general strength particularly of their lower limb and foot. Some patients seek our in home services for general foot care needs, requirements and management while others require hands on treatment and exercise management to assist in maintaining mobility in their day to day life and day to day management of their lower limb conditions. Hands on care is important for relief with some of their aches and pains. While some may require particular orthoses to maintain their mobility. Ultimately our Podiatrist’s are here to support you on your journey and tailor a treatment plan to assist in attaining your goals and now we can achieve this in the comfort of your own home.
NDIS Home Visit Podiatry & what to expect in an initial consultation with an Inertia Podiatrist at home?
Your initial at home Podiatry consultation is always tailored specifically to your individual needs. We want completely to understand get to know you, what your goals are, where you may be struggling and work together to create a plan working towards achieving your goals.
Initially we undertake a detailed history of your condition and your current status and what you want out of your treatment with us.
From here we are able to assess you accordingly. We ensure that we take you through a full biomechanical assessment so that we have an understanding of your issue and can develop a Podiatry plan moving forward to assist you in achieving your goals. This biomechanical assessment may involve in depth gait analysis (walking mechanics) and muscle testing of the lower limb. If you have issues with blood flow we are able to assess this with our doppler machine and create an appropriate report for your doctors or specialists if required.
We base our at home treatment plan on our assessment and on what we need to achieve with you– We incorporate a variety of treatment methods to ensure you attain the most overall complete care and experience with our Podiatrists.
We reassess along the way, this allows us to see how our goals are being achieved and / or where we need to work more. It allows us to continue to tailor and refine our treatment plans with you ensuring the most optimal outcomes, all from the comfort of your own home.

Home Visit Podiatry Toe Nail Cutting and Resection For NDIS Participants
Some participants may have issues with regard to maintaining the health and length of their toe nails due to particular issues that may reduce the ability for them to bend or sit. Our Podiatrists are more than happy to help and are experts in the maintenance of nail care.
Home Visit Podiatry Ingrown Toe Nail Care For NDIS Participants

Home Visit Podiatry Diabetic Foot Assessments For NDIS Participants
Inertia Podiatrists are able to assist with podiatry diabetic foot assessments and encompass a variety of sensation, vascular and neurological testing to assess the foot. Our vascular assessments encompass the use of our Doppler Ultrasound machine to assist in vascular assessment and assess the body’s blood flow to the foot. We can use this information for generating reports back to your doctors and specialists for those who suffer with any vascular issues to the foot.

The NDIS Podiatry System
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS Physio), has been one of the largest changes to the Australian health care system over the last 35 years. The NDIS Podiatry scheme helps to provide approximately 460,000 Australians aged under 65, who have a permanent and significant disability, with funding for support and services. The aim of this system is to provide the means that those with disability require to achieve their goals and live an ordinary life.
We can currently help those who are self-managed and plan managed participants.
We understand that it can be very difficult to navigate the NDIS process, as such we will spend time with you to establish how everything will work for you throughout your time with us at– we know there is no one size fits all when it comes to disabilities and individually tailored plans are critical to the success of the treatment. Depending on how your funds are managed will dictate how the billing process will work for you, our dedicated administration team will do everything they can to make it as smooth as possible so you can focus on the goals you have set with your Podiatrist.
Plan Managed Home Visit Mobile Podiatry NDIS Participants
Plan managed participants just need to provide the details of the plan manager that your funding is distributed through as well as your NDIS number and billing information. We will communicate directly with both your plan manager and support coordinator (and any other relevant health professionals) to ensure we are playing our role as a part of your support team in the most effective way possible.
Self-Managed Home Visit Mobile Podiatry NDIS Participants
If you are self managed the process is slightly different, you will be able to pay for your appointments using your funding and we will then provide you with all required paperwork and invoices so you can keep track of everything you need for the NDIA. If at any point you require account statements or overviews of your appointments, we will be more than happy to get these for you in a timely manner.
Portal Managed Home Visit Mobile Podiatry NDIS Participants
If you are a portal managed NDIS Physiotherapy participant all we require is your NDIS plan details and we can submit invoices through the NDIA portal. All you need to do is ensure we have a service agreement in place, and we can do the rest for you!
Fees
Specific fees for NDIS patients are set out by the NDIA so that the cost of Allied health services are standardised across Australia. The fee schedule can be found here. Our Podiatry appointment pricing falls in line with the NDIS dictated rates. The type and length of appointment you will require will be worked out with yourself and your Podiatrist to ensure you can achieve your goals. We will arrange a standardised service agreement which will need to be signed and returned as per the NDIS requirements and we are then able to progress from there!
