Our exercise program is specifically designed to cater to individuals who have been diagnosed with osteoporosis and osteopenia or are at risk of developing these conditions. We understand the unique needs of with decreased bone density and have tailored our program to promote and increase bone health, improve strength, and enhance overall well-being. About Our Osteo-Blast Program

Our exercise class is led by experienced Exercise Physiologists who have a key interest in working with individuals living with osteoporosis and osteopenia. We have carefully curated a program that focuses on safe and effective exercises, targeting key areas to strengthen bones, improve balance, and enhance flexibility. Our classes are designed to provide a supportive and encouraging environment, ensuring that each participant feels comfortable and confident throughout their journey.

  7. Personalised Approach: We understand that each individual has unique needs and abilities. Our Exercise Physiologists provide modifications and adaptations to exercises to accommodate different levels and limitations.

Class Details:

Duration: Each class is approximately 50 minutes.

Class Schedule

Current Classes Times:

Monday 9.00 am – 9.50 am Exercise Physiologist Instructor: Nathan
Friday 9.00 am – 9.50 am Exercise Physiologist Instructor: Nathan

Frequency: Classes are held twice a week, allowing for consistent progress and improvement, our Exercise Physiologists will intermittently adjust your program during the classes to ensure your gaining the most out of your programming.

Small Class Size: To ensure personalised attention, our classes have a limited number of participants.

Location: Our Osteo- Blast exercise program is conducted in our Fitness Studio facility is conveniently located with ample parking and accessible facilities.

Equipment: We provide all necessary exercise equipment, including mats, resistance bands, weights and weight machines, you will need to bring a towel, drink bottle and an encouraging attitude!

Who Can Participate:

Our exercise class is suitable for individuals diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia or those at risk of developing those conditions. We welcome participants of all fitness levels, including beginners and those who may have limited mobility or physical restrictions.

Entry Requirements

To gain entry to our Osteo-Blast Program you will need to consult with one of our Exercise Physiologists for an Initial thorough Osteo-Blast assessment.

During this Initial Assessment your Exercise Physiologist will review:

  1. General history (medications, medical history, contraindications, Smoking status, caffeine consumption etc)
  2. Bone Mineral Density scores: very important (OP, Osteopenia)
  3. Falls risk through completion of specific balance testing protocols
  4. Fracture risk
  5. Frailty risk
  6. Cardio Respiratory Function
  7. Performance of a General strength battery
  8. Postural assessment
  9. You will also need to fill in a few questionnaires.
  10. Start of the creation of your Individualised Osteo-Blast Program

This testing battery allows our Exercise Physiologists to determine your appropriate level of entry exercises and gives a baseline to review with you in 3 months time. It also allows for them to tailor specifically to you your Osteo-Blast exercise program.

Cost of the Osteo–Blast Program

Costs associated with gaining entry to this class are:

  1. A one hour Initial Exercise Physiology Osteo-Blast Appointment $120.00
  2. Class Cost: casual visit class by class $25.00 or
    12 Pack Class Pass paid up front $250.00 (16 week expiry)
  3. Individual Exercise Physiology Review Appointment (40 Min) for retesting every 3 months $80.00.

*All appointments and classes with our Exercise Physiologists are eligible for Private Health Fund rebates. We advise checking with your individual fund regarding your level of cover and rebates.

COVID-19 Update - We Are Open

Our Clinic has been classified as an essential service to the community. We assist by trying to keep people healthy as possible and out of surgeries and decrease hospital admissions. At Inertia Health Group we are working hard to keep our patients and team members as safe as possible.

Due to our strict infection control procedures we have been deemed a low risk clinic- we have all completed the government COVID -19 Infection Control Risk Course and have implemented new waiting room procedures as well as intensified our cleaning procedures completing these regularly through the day. We have also implemented a virtual health service for those who require advice or assistance and cannot attend the clinic.
